How many db of padding is there when toggling from dx to local? I had a problem with noise on CSQ kerchunking my repeater. I toggled this setting in lieu of popping the hood on the GM-300 to adjust the squelch pot.

I was programming one of my GM300's before, and had toggled the setting out of curiosity, and although I did not preform a db measurement, I was at least able to hear a noticible difference in how far out it would RX. You may want to set up your repeater to accept a PL or DPL tone on the input, because the Local setting may really minimize how well your repeater can hear.

The radio in question is actually used as a remote base radio with a controller and 2 other radios as a Rx & Tx for the repeater. So, the remote base radio will only be used to operate repeaters. I can probably get by with the current "local" setting. If the repeaters encoded a tone; then I wouldn't have anything to worry about. Whenever I get some time; I'll end up adjusting the squelch pot. I was just curious about the difference in signal strength.

The local position puts 10dB of attenuation into the front end.
