Pinout needed for Motorola Amplified Speaker NSN6027A

Post by hfitzgerald »

Hi, I picked up a Motorola Amplified Speaker in hopes of wiring it to my mobile rig, but I need the pinout for the wiring before I can proceed. This particular speaker (model number NSN6027A) has the white speaker box with the 12 Watt amplifier built into it (PCB inside the speaker box). It's original use was on the MX-300 Converta-Coms and is the same speaker pictured in the upper right corner of the following schematic:

Unfortunately, the schematic does not tell me which pins are power, audio, etc. I have seen people wire these up with a volume control (pot) on the side of the housing for finer adjustment of the audio gain.

If you have any of the following information it would be greatly appreciated:
1. Pinout information (or function of each wire).
2. Where should I insert a pot for external volume control?
3. What value pot should I use?

I'll take any information relavent to the topic. Thanks and God bless,
Fitz Fitzgerald.

I could use the same info if anyone has it. I just bought an NSN6027A NIB but it came with no info.
