The Setup light on the RICK is always on? I havent used the setup button for anything so whats it for? dont laugh! Can I run a Zetron Model 5 into the RICK acces. output? I think thats all for now! Thanks to anyone that helps, Donnie

The set up button is to "knock down" the repeater. It won't hurt to run it always on, you just can't knock down the set up or use remote knock down.
If you want to use the set up button or use DTMF codes to remotely knock it down and set it up, you will have to find either the JU801 or F801 fuse or jumper in the transmit radio and cut it.
This will enable the "ignition control" feature in the radio. This also allows you to use the set up in the RICK.
If you ever want to use the transmit radio in a car again, you will have to have the F801 fuse or jumper replaced, or , supply 12 volts of current, fused to 5 amps into the #10 pin on your 16 pin accy plug (ignition control)
You will need a service manual to find this fuse, as there are several different logic boards for each model of radio, depending on when it was manufactured.

Yes you can run a external controller on the rick, just use the extra 16 pin connector on the back of the rick (I forget the name of it). It's just like a 16 pin on the back of any other motorola radio. Have fun with it!!
