Batboard

When I enter the scan program list (position A on the toggle) I can turn the LED light on the top to OFF, GREEN, or RED. I know that when the LED is OFF its deleted from the scan list. Whats the difference between the red & the green LED? I've looked & searched... but cant find anything on it.

green is in the scan list and red is in the scan list but that becomes the priority channel in the scan list.

Thanks That makes sense because I can change it to red on one channel.. then another and the first is green again.

The trouble with a fixed priority is that it will interfere with a two-way conversation on a non-priority channel unless you first turn off scan. A better way is to use the RSS to set the scan priority to the selected channel, in which case it will always follow the channel selector.

RKG's suggestion is a good one. If you do it his way, if what you're listening to drops out and the radio takes off and finds another repeater with a long tail (for example) the radio will go back to your channel when it resumes. Otherwise you'll not get back to where you were and will miss the rest of what you'd started out listening to until you notice it's wrong and then you'll have to correct it yourself.

Not fun, especially when it can be set up better.
