Spectra Dashmount - Command Board Jumpers

Post by KB5AKO »

I have a Spectra that doesn't have the PTT enabled at the accessory jack on the back of the radio. I looked under the hood on the Command board and even under the MLM board; and I can't seem to recognize any jumpers at all. Are there some lots of Spectra that were manufactured without these jumpers?

If I can't enable the PTT on the accessory jack; I was thinking about acquiring some type of connector that would slip onto the pins extruding from within the microphone jack. Has anyone ever done that? If so, what size connectors are they?

Victor,

The jumper(s) you need are on the bottom of the Command board.

Location depends on the board number.

You could jump the mic PTT to the VIP output line in the control head.

Two VIP lines appear on the fifteen pin accy jack. And they originate on the control head board.
