HT1250 Call Lists

I'm playing around with an HT1250 Codeplug in CPS, and I remember seeing that the radio will decode an MDC ID and display an Alias for the ID if the ID is in the radio Call List. Now.. DTMF, MDC, and QCII signalling all share the same call list in the CPS.
My question is that if I program a QCII call for each set of tones for each station in my county with an Alias for each station, will the radio display the Alias when the tones are received?
As an example: when 1530-1820 is received, the radio would isplay "STA 80" on the display?
Also, how do you program the radio to encode quick call?
Thanks!

for the first part of your question, yes. in mdc in the call section you can enter a name and the mdc number and when it recieves that number it will display the name you give it. don't know why they limit the aliases to 190 but that's how many you can add. even on my ht1550 ti's 190 too. oh and on each channel you have to select mdc in the signaling section under recieve.
as for part 2, no, it don't work that way. when you name the qcII it will only display the name of the channel. the only time it displays a name is when you go into the menu under select call and pick that qcII. then you pust the transmit button while you see that name and it will set off the tones.
and that is how you encode qcII.
if you want to send me your codeplug and info i will alter it for you, once you see how it's done you'll pick it up fast.

Thanks Jeff, I think i've got it now!
One other question, which may sound odd, but i'm wondering. What does the QCII alert tone sound like on an HT1250? It's just 3 short beeps on all of my Kenwoods and I need something that will get my attention.
Thanks!

you can change that sound by changing the alert tone, there are like 10 different ones to choose from. another thing to remember is that a radio is no match for a pager, you need to get most of the tones before it will go off so that means don't expect it to work when you are scanning.

Do you happen to know which Alert Tone is closest to the Minitor Pager?
I don't have the radio here to play with yet, i'm just working on the codeplug.

I have a HT 1550 XLS and just want to make sure I have this right....I have 44 aliases.I programmed the mdc number and alias in MDC Call. I have selected mdc in the signaling section under recieve for each channel.
I must be missing something...not working for me?
