I would like to power an EXACOM digital voice recorder (12 volt) from the rear connection of a CDM1250. I am trying to do this so that when the radio is turned on, the voice recorder is turned on.

Can this be done?

From memory, you can tap B+ from Pin 13 of the accessory connector; I don't know if programming is required to activate the function (which is used, among other things, to power the ignition sense line of the Tx radio in a R*I*C*K setup). However, the amount of power you can tap is quite limited; use a relay to isolate this from your recorder.

The pin 13 B+ output is officially rated for 1A.

I would like to thank both of you for your input. I have decided to use a very heavy duty toggle switch that will turn on the radio and recorder at the same time.

Any thoughts??

This B+ is controlled by the ON-OFF switch in the CDM, is it not?

Yes.
