Astro Saber 3 VHF loading problem...

I have an IMBE AS3 that every so often refuses to accept the
codeplug and goes into a FAIL 1/82 mode. I've gotten the radio
to work by putting in another codeplug, then going back to the
one I wanted to put in the unit. Last night when it happened again
I slowed the computer (an old P60) down to 25 mHz and things
were fine again, but I'm getting tired of this drill and would like to know
that when I hit F8 the radio will take it without this problem
reocurring. The computer runs DOS 6.22 and nothing else.

All ideas and thoughts are appreciated.
