CDM1550LS+ accessory connector vs Car stereo w/ Line-In

Recently installed a CDM1550LS+ in my car, and I'd like to wire it to my car radio (which happens to have 2 AUX line in's and a wire for TEL/NAVI/etc mute). I know that I could probably control the tel/navi mute by configuring one of the P buttons to control one of the Aux pins behind the radio, but how about the audio? I want to send filtered, unamplified audio to the car's stereo system. What configuration do I need to do in CPS and what pins should I use?

Also, is there a way to make the car stereo mute when my handset is off-hook? (i.e. control AUX1 or AUX2 on the acc.connector with the current status of the hang up box)

I use one of these bad boys:

I've seen this thread topic before.

[clicks and hums]

Right...here it is

You're gonna lose a LOT of functionality in your car by doing this. Il look at it this way, i spent a couple of hundred to make my truck sound like a concert hall, i want to hear it...the little mono RX deck in my mobile is only allowed to pump audio out the little 5watt speaker box by my left shoulder, it is not allowed to trespass into the amplified 3 way 6x9s, piezos, sub cabinet or crossover. :-) yo soy Audiophile. :-) Do you really need to hear all that audio pumped in thru the hi-fi stereo from your radio in your car? What if you just want to monitor a channel and cruise with the tunes on? Wait, trying to help you here, let me change focus...

Use a transistor to draw off the HUB connection for your radio. This way, when you pick up the mic, the transistor (depending on what kind of TEL/MUTE system your radio has (mine has active high)) will go to active hi/active low (whatever you require) and mute the radio. By using a transistor (low current draw) you can make it transparent to the radio that you are using it's signal line for the HUB to do something else, you CAN use a relay, but it draws too much juice and might screw up some of the CDM circutry (and if you know anyhting about them, they are NOT the most tolerant of things), and there you have it..pick up mic and radio mutes. (this is what a buddy of mine did)

Ok wait, now if you do this, it will not really matter...you will not be getting audio from your stereo unless you switch to that input, so why would you want to mute the only set of speakers that you will have working for you? In order for you to have audio to mute, your stereo would have to be on another source, so what's the point of actually going and connecting your RX deck to your stereo? Unless you have a audio system that someway has simultaneous inputs ...then you have too much money and should give me some. :-)You could use one of the programmable outs from the accessory connector to accomplish the same as the HUB tap, but why make another keypress? Keep it simple and transparent, it's much cooler that way. IMHO.

Try here, http://www.cell-site.com They make wiring harnesses for the audio, and setreo switching. You can use speaker level audio, they do have an inline pad as an option They are set up for Motorola, and or Nokia HF kits. They plug and play with Ford, and Chevy stereos (with RDS radios). All you to do is tie in your SP AU, and the stereo mute line form your CDM, and you are set.

It also looks like you can set the audio output on pin 11 to filtered au.
Also under the accessory pins menu, you can set one of the options to “Special off hook” I don’t know what this will do for you, but it may help with your handset question.

Jim.
