My HT1000 has good Rx and Tx, also has good audio out put, but no voice if I talk with the inside Mic of the radio,
I had the whole front with flex and Spkr exchange but nothing worked, but IF I USED THE EXTERNAL SPKR MIC.RADIO WORKS PERFECT. Any ideas where can be the problem?
PM: If any suggestions how to solve this problem.

simple diagnostic. replace the microphone element. or maybe a trace is bad or a wire has a short.

Remember I said I swap the front cover with the spkr, mic, flex with other radio and is OK.
I also tested the one from the bad radio in another radio and it worked just great!

(its been the better part of a decade since using the HT RSS - so bear with me) Was there an option in the RSS for those HT series radios to have the interal mic gain turned way down? Re-write the codeplug?
And forgive me about the exchange, it wasn't written as clearly as i had hoped. I found it after re-reading your post.

Well I dont know about an option board but I have a perfect codeplug from a radio that belongs to the same company and has exactly the same programming, I used that codeplug as my sample or test one. Radio has been clone and also tested with other codeplugs from diferent working radios.

One quick check is to see with a voltmeter about 4 VDC on the internal mic element on TX, this would verify the connection of the flex into the controller board.
I have seen the controller board fail to switch back to the internal mic. I atributed this to static on the options/accy jack, I put the accy jack cover on and it worked.
And you did exchange the spkr/mic flex with a good one, so it could be a problem in the controller board where the accual mic INT/EXT switching is done.

I will test the 4V tomorrow to find out if something wrong in the jack... I will also try another Good RF board to see what results I get. Thanks

Sorry if any missunderstanding thebigphish, I will double check if I can set the Mic gain up again. thanks for reply

Has it just stopped doing this all of a sudden or was it like that when you got it?

Do you think it's possible that these radios were lab hacked and the PTT assignment was changed?

I seriously doubt the RF board would have anything to do with the no internal mic problem.
The Controller board does all the mic switching and TX audio processing, and feeds the modulation to the RF board.

Problem Fixed! There were various broken pins in the jack in the control board were Mic/Spkr fex conector plugs in. Someone push too mush and the jack brake some pins conections, I resolded the conector and cleaned the contacts inside. Done!
Thanks guys
