Hi all, this is a great site. its good to see so many dedicated enthusiasts.

I have a question that has given me quite a bit of trouble over the last fews weeks. Hopefully someone can shed some light on it.I have searched through the posts for related info but came up empty handed.

i have an xts3000. the local area has just been upgraded to APCO25 conventional digital. i understand that to listen to digital signals it is best to just put the default ID of 293 or "digital CSQ" in it. However when i do this and set that frequency up for voting, i get a signal that is chopped so much so that i cannot understand one word. I have the ID's from some of the surrounding channels, that when put into voting work fine.

essentially im after any information on how i can get voting to work on the digital network. (i have no intentions what so ever of transmitting, just as long as i can get the voting function working as there are MANY frequencies that have been assigned for the given channels. it makes things MUCH easier...... one of the main reasons i purchased a motorola and not a uniden.)

simple answer.

In sydney, there are multiple network ID's used. the ones that "work fine" are just the default ID of 293, the rest are different id's (channel K etc).

so, you need to find the 4 different ID's that are used in the sydney area for all channels to vote scan correctly.

So there are FOUR ID's that are repeated on the different channels?

thanks for your prompt reply tracka,much appreciated. one last question, if there is no other way around this, how do you propose i get the recieve ID's?? (as in there are no patterns that usually emerge or programs to decode?) if worst comes to worst then i will just have to scrap the voting idea, but like i said in my previous post, it is a very convienient feature to have.

different channels use different network ID's. most use the 293 default.

there is no pattern or program to use, you just have to go through each network id to find it out.
