Saber Help Needed

I have a Saber 2 that the display reads as if in self test mode. The radio was re-programmed with a known good CP and this did not fix the issue. I later removed the case and checked all connections, still not the problem. Well the last thing I did was to remove the disp, and memory. I tried a Saber 1 CP and still no luck.
Please give me some ideas.
TIA
Steve

Never program a display Saber with non display RSS, you will not be able to program the radio as a Saber II or higher if the RSS 'thinks' the radio does not have a display.
The display is also the 'extra' memory for the radio, and is necessary to get Saber II features to work, such as display names and channels, not to mention the 'extra' channels that you can program as well, inluding selectable PLs.
Reprogram the radio with the proper type of information, then add your channel data and PL tones.
F4 will get you into the radio options menu, there you select time-outs, display/channel as well as MDC information and options you may or may not have available given the model number of your specific radio, like secure.
Start out with the proper radio type and model, then choose the proper frequency range you know your radio has operated on before, or what it was originally programmed with.
But make sure you are using the information for a display model only, such as this:
H33QXK7139CN
Display, three button, narrow band, 136-150.8, high power VHF Etc...
Create a proper codeplug, enter your desired frequencies and PL tones as well as choose the correct options in F4 for your radio and program.
If you made the proper choices and you can transmit, then run the service menu from the main screen under F2 and go through every section in F3, F4 and F5...if you are not familiar with the settings in these menus, you should NOT change the data that's showing up on your screen.
As a 'rule of thumb' you should ALWAYS read the radio first then SAVE the codeplug data for future reference in case you make a mistake and the radio does not function, you can at least restore it to it's original state and try again.
Good luck!

OOPS! That model number shows - Display, FULL keypad, LOW power VHF...
H43QXJ7139CN OR H43SAJ7139CN is for HIGH power VHF, Three button display, secure (QXJ) or non-secure (SAJ), etc.
Steve, if you have a proper service manual, I suggest that you check the internal 5V power supplies.

I was simply using the model number as a reference, not as a statement of fact.
The additional information is what he'd see if he pressed F3, 'Create RPF'.
Many new people may not be familiar with the model numbers, so I included one so they can recognize them when they see them, that's all.
