we need to know the model number of the radio to be able to get you the right codeplug. did the cs error show up when you were programming it or did it happen when the display got damaged? if i'm not mistaken when it says cs error you shouldn't be able to read the radio.

Is rare, but I actually can read and write the radio, it just shows the error message while the radio is on, but at the time to r/w the radio shows the programming message on the display. I dont know if radio had the problem before or after the display damaged, I got the radio with display broken. will get the model #...

you probablly have hardware problems because even if the display was broken you can read and write the radio. any chance you can get your money back on it, my guess is that someone sold it to you knowing it was more than just replacing the display.

Before anything, I'd do a firmware upgrade and get rid of the operating system from the Flitstones.

The model number is: AAH25SDF9AA5AN IF ANY ONE HAS A CODEPLUG AND WANT TO HELP! please email me or PM me ASAP. I reconfirm that radio can be read and write with out problems. the only problem is the CS error on the display.

if you can read and write to the radio and it still says cs error, i'm 99% shure it's not gonna help with a different codeplug, it's an internal problem, it needs to go to motorola.

Have you tried to reseat the LCD flex connector - maybe it is not completely plugged in ot misaligned. If that don't work, try removing the display and see if you still get the CS error.

It is is saying "EEPRM CS ERROR" the internal portion is corupt. I had the same issue when programming my the battery on the RIB died. /\/\oto wants like $300 to fix it. You might be able to do the code plug thing but doubt it will work. In the HTx50 section it says take 2 Ribless cables but it was only tried on the PRO radios it may work on the HTx50 series.
Good Luck

i've brought several ht's back to life with cs error just by writing a good codeplug to it but the difference is that he says he can read and write to his while it says that. i wonder if someone tried to upgrade the firmware and skipped a generation? or would that give a hw error? i'm still with my original suggestion to get your money back on it.

It depends on where the corruption in the codeplug checksum is...a lot of the time cloning in a known good codeplug can fix it, but if the error resides in an area that the CPS can't touch, then it won't. I've been able to fix the error with a firmware upgrade in those cases.

Todd how much does a firmware upgrade cost?
I have a VHF HT1250 that has this issue. I might try to write the good version of the CP. But if you say a firmware can correct it them I might do that.

Most dealers will do it for a nominal fee...depends on what their minimum labor charge is. Try writing a known good codeplug to it by all means, as it can work, but if that fails give the firmware upgrade a try.

Well I used a ribless cable and programmed it and it WORKS. But now when I put the case in nothing on the display but when I tried it on another radio nothing either. It powers on and the light turns on but nothing on the display.
I am thinking it's a bad flex or LCD so I am going to put a post in FS for one.
Thanks

“Tri” and “tri” & “tri” + “tri” agene to write a code plug to the radio, I have brought several ht1250’s with the "EEPRM CS ERROR" back to life (limited keypad’s and full keypad’s) with tiring to dump a code plug back to the radio. Make sure that your rib box and cable is ok and tri agene.

Had that same problem on an HT-1250LS+ after a firmware upgrade went bad. Radio when turned on would be dead but the green L.E.D. on top would turn on when trying to read or write to the radio.
It went to the depot for repair, luckily it was the boss who bricked it.

Firmware at flashrom caused dead radio.
Remove flashrom from the board,
than replace with new flahsrom (AT49...).
You must write down firmware into flashrom use universal eprom programmer (ALL 11P, Brightek, TOP, EasyPro, etc).
Only 25 minuts....

Try to reflash it with the lab upgradetool.
