Spectra Question

I have a High-powered Spectra that I just put back in my car. The "busy" light stays on if theradio is NOT in scan mode and if I turn off the monitor, all I get is static. I've adjusted the squelch setting with no results. Why is this happening?

Sounds like a leaky capacitor issue. Do a search for leaking capacitors and you will find numerous posts and fixes.

The radio may be programmed as though it has a secure board installed, it will exhibit the condition that your describing.
