Dead saber

Post by Pj »

Ok, was out changing some things out...and now I cannot get the saber to power up.

I am figuring that there is a bad flex. The saber itself was an early nick (1cxx flash) radio.

Here is what I know:

-It was working before I tinkered with it
-VOCON works/powers up in other chasis
-Other vocons will not work when swapped into this
-Battery is good
-Secure board is good
-Swapping housings = same result. No workie
-Radio is 800 and NOT inhibited
-Fuse on the RF board looks good

I don't see anything physically damaged..but hey, they are flexes. Worse case, what would I need to order or what else can I look at? No, I don't have a meter or monitor at the moment, and I cannot find my service manual.

Found it. Bad flex.

Anyone good at replacing the flex, or have a chasis they want to part with?
