Hello.
I have a VHF A7 Spectra, equipped with the remote head configuration kit. It is setup at the moment as a Dash-Mount, but when I try setting it up with the remote-head kit (Longer Cable, as used on MotorCycle type), the Spectra will key up, but not pass audio. Just flat audio with the very quiet hum of the PL or DPL or whatever is programmed on a given channel. All other features work just fine, though. The mic being used is the "HMN1032B", Non-Backlit DTMF mic. I think it is the MaraTrac kind. Works great, with audio and DTMF tones when setup on the Dash-Mount config.
Any ideas as to why I cannot pass audio when I try to setup the radio 'remote-mount'?
Thanks

The motorcycle cable is designed to use a HMN1062 Weather Proof Palm Microphone on the DB-9 connector cable that comes off the back of the control head connector:

Since the motorcycle radio sits in a weather proof enclosure, the motorcycle head has the front microphone connector permanently blocked off and the back of the motorcycle control head has a weather proof connector with no microphone connector, there is not any need to run the microphone audio lines to the control head (they only run to the DB-9 connector).

You might want to look for a 3080157M01 or 3080157M04 radio drawer to control head cable. These will have a DB-15 instead of a DB-9 connector. The ignition accessory cable plugs into the DB-15.
