MTX850 Scan Button?

Does the MTX850 have the option of turning scan on/off? I can't seem to enable any of the buttons to control this feature. You can however enable "auto scan" in the trunked personality screen.
I hope the customer isn't left with all or nothing. Turning scan off would be nice. I've set a the top button for nuisance delete for now.

Sadly, there is no scan on/off feature in the MTX850. They are left with auto-scan or nothing. I barely believed it myself when I first ran into this.
The MTX8250 display model can assign any button to scan on/off.

This is definitely an issue that needs to be addressed in future firmware/CPS releases. That's ********.

If their programming isn't too complex, and available channel space on the 16-channel selector allows, you could duplicate channels and have one set of them set for scan, the other not. Then they could switch scan on/off as desired.

Thanks Todd.
In my customer's application, all positions are full since they use the radio on multiple sites, and the radio does not support Smartzone.

Yes you can make the button on the top scan. I have my orange button at the top my scan button. UNCHECK the auto scan box and then make sure you set up your top button in the CPS and you will have scan on/off.
if you have any questions feel free to ask!

I can't make this work...there is no provision within the MTX850 to make the orange button scan on/off. You can do this with the MTX
8250, but not the 850 that I'm looking at. I'm using version 2.00.02 which is the latest CPS version.
How new is your 850?
