Batboard

2 questions:
1st. My Pac will tx long distances (1+ miles) but I only can get into it with in 60 feet, will a pre amp work?
2nd. Does anyone have any expirence with recrystaling a pac for the ham band (147.555 MHz)?

If it only receives you within 60ft, then something is physically wrong with it. Adding a pre-amp would be like putting an IV in someone with an arterial bleed.

Concidering the age, I doubt you'll have an easy time finding someone to service it either.
