JT1000 Refurb Cost?

Hello.

I was thinking about possibly purchasing/ordering a NEW Front Housing, with display, speaker, buttons; i.e. all electronics for my JT1000. I see some of these on eBay, (no case electronics) but no one has the little 'JT1000' sticker for the front. My case is hella used and has plenty of dead/dim pixels at the moment.

Any idea on an estimate I should look to pay for a new housing, all electronics, and the JT1000 sticker (if I can find one)??

Thanks.

Jedi 15-key front housing with speaker, mic, LCD, flex, & DTMF board is part# NTN7154B retail price $189. Sorry, you will not find any refurb kit with the JT1000 label included. That sticker can only be ordered by qualified Motorola dealers.

Ok, thanks.

I could probably salvage it from the used case I have.

Theres two people on e-bay who can get "jedi" stickers.
Motorola label, - ABC sticker, Front cover,
Matter of fact it was a year ago I ordered from the 800 no. in front of the operating book, an HT1000 sticker & some others.
The HT-1000 sticker is part no. # 3305183r56

Also for what it's worth I was able to order a replacement JT1000 sticker and top sticker through radioaccessories.com

Send it to Motorola under the "display missing lines" SRN. They wil replace the display and, I think, the front housing.
SRN expires this month.

That's a pretty good idea, actually it has been up-issued to November 06, so time is not so critical.

What is critical is the problem with the display and the serial number. It has to be from Janurary 1999 or newer. From what he has described the problem should fall within the criteria.

They are stingy when it comes to this, I've tried to sneak a few through that had gone completely out and they kicked it back. It must still show some pixels.

You have to get creative, run 12v accross the driver chip, and burn them out. Many years ago, Motorola would repair MX modules and send them back to us, most of the time they would die or be very intemittant, so we would take 24v and run it accross the pins, to make sure we never got them back again.
