MLM version capabilities

Post by Will »

Has anyone come up with what options and capabilities are available in the different MLM versions?

I think that ver 5.04 supports Multiple PL but not Singletone. It also seems to support RSSI, MDC, DTMF ect.....

hi...I have a VHF Dash mount A5 enhanced control head spectra w/ MLM 5.23.....it does MPL, RSSI, MDC 600/1200, DTMF Encode only (decode needs a board inside).....no Zones or S-Tone and some people have said that RSSI needs to be MLM 6.04 or higher, but mine does it, and some other peoples does too, so I dunno? but basically your missing out on Zone, S-Tone (might work with a board?) and thats basically the main thing that I can think of....but I agree, I wish someone had a complete, full list of what MLM ver. does what......I know some sites have a short list, but its not right, it says RSSI is v6.0 or higher?? and the Benderman site which is awesome to go thru, and I had all my questions answered on it.....But it doesntt have a complete list either?? I still have a question too, did Moto come out with these MLM ver. ALL at once when the Spectra first came out, and then depending on what features you ordered or use, they would send you the radio with the codeplug and MLM ver. you need? OR did these ver. come out gradually as Moto started adding new features? which would mean that the first Spectra's that came out, had hardly nothing.....which doesnt make sense, since the manual for the radio has all the features listed...Thanks, David KD6RFS

What radios do you own?: APX4K, XTL5K, NX5200, NX700HK

I haven't met a spectra yet that won't take "RSSI" as a programmed button.

But only boards Rx.15 and up allow it to actually function. 6.04? nope... R6.14?... nope... R6.15, and R5.23 were both a "go".

On the RSSI option, ver 3.24 supports it and does read rather accurately.

yeah, R3.24 is a revision greater than R x.15 'x' can be any number, but as long as the other side of the decimal is .15 or greater, RSSI should work.
