Maxtrac Scan

I just fired up an old 32 channel maxtrac (factory not hacked) and programmed it all up. Then I added my scan list, and I accidentally went over the standard 16 scan channels, and it let me do it! It only popped up an error message saying that adding more then 16 channels may cause you to miss some of the transmission. Does anyone know of a way to apply this to a hacked 32 channel radio (Max, GM or Radius)? As I remember, the hacked radio refused to scan anything over channel 16. Besides, I don't know of any motorola radio that will scan more the 16 channels.

32 channel maxtracs can scan all 32 channels.

IIRC - the X9000 will scan all 99 channels.....

The actual answer to the X9000 scan modes is more complicated.
A) standard U501 firmware, operator select -
non-priority scan modes 1 to 64 (64 modes total)
primary priority scan mode 1 to 255 (1 mode total)
secondary priority scan mode 1 to 255 (1 mode total)
B) standard U501 firmware, mode slaved -
non-priority scan modes 1 to 64 (64 modes total)
primary priority scan mode 1 to 64 (1 mode total)
secondary priority scan mode 1 to 64 (1 mode total)
C) 128 mode U501 firmware, operator select -
non-priority scan modes 1 to 128 (128 modes total)
primary priority scan mode 1 to 255 (1 mode total)
secondary priority scan mode 1 to 255 (1 mode total)
D) 128 mode U501 firmware, mode slaved (requires SP RSS above mode 64) -
non-priority scan modes 1 to 128 (128 modes total)
primary priority scan mode 1 to 128 (1 mode total)
secondary priority scan mode 1 to 128 (1 mode total)
The RSS programs “operator select” or “mode slaved” scan operation depending on how you choose to set it up. An optional radio drawer plug-in 8k EEPROM is required for more than 32 modes.
A hacked RSS is required to create modes above 128 (hacked RSS will do 1 to 255 modes). A factory SP RSS will go up to 128 modes. The standard RSS goes up to 64 modes.
In general you can have up to 128 non-priority scan modes and the two operator select priority modes can go up to mode 255.
The dual radio HHCH Syntor X 9000 is the only one limited to 99 modes and I do not know what scan limitations this model has.
The MCX 1000 will scan up to 128 modes (non-priority and priority modes). However, this radio is a bit tricky to get in the correct configuration. The fast lock synthesizer is a hardware option that you need for good scan performance, 128 mode operation is an option (soldered in 8k EEPROM), priority scan is an option (I think its tied to the fast lock option), etc.
