Like a moron, I toolproofed my radio. I didn't remember that it had the toolproofing, so I didn't back it up. I am going to try to figure out a way to fix it. My first idea is to create another MTS2000 with the same parameters as the fried one (model, serial, etc.)I can read the radio, and was going to try to dump the read codeplug into another radio, back it up (read with no unpack) and dump it into the fried radio (write with no unpack). Maybe some more ideas will pop into my head throught the week. If anyone has ony other ideas, I am willing to try it. The radio is a paperweight to me right now, anyway. Thanks.

hate to be the bearer of bad news, but unless you have an S-record from YOUR radio, you are hosed. Putting another c/p will just produce the same error. Trust me. Been there, done that.

Get ready to send it to the depot, and pay flat rare. Personally I'd put 12vdc on the controller board. If they see FAIL 01/93 they might charge time and materials...who knows.

Or just find another UHF MTS2000...they seem to be plentiful these days.

Monty was close to figuring it out before he passed away. He had some test jig that he made up.

I'll second the last post, unless you have the original codeplug saved, there is nothing that you can do. If you have the codeplug saved from something newer (like 6.x) then there's a chance you can fix it but the last time I had a MTS I tried everything just to see if there was another way and the only way that worked for me was to use the backed up codeplug.

Unless a gracious moto or x-moto employee helps you out, you'll need to get another controller or send it to Plantation.

Well, I have something of the same problem. My 900 Mhz MTS2000 was being programmed and the battery died.

Now I get an 01-92 error. I tried reading it out and I get a message saying it can't read the file from the radio.

I tried dumping a new code plug into it and now it thinks it's an 800 mhz radio but still doesn't come out of the power up test.

I wasn't even doing anything strange with the radio, I had just removed all of the trunking references and was saving as a conventional radio, making ready to change it over for 900 MHz amateur use.

Does anyone have the parameters for creating a new code plug to dump into it?

Does it do any good to try to dump in another code plug from another radio? Or is 12V to the controller the way to get it fixed? How much is flat rate repair these days?

I've never messed with a toolproofed radio, but maybe one of us can send you a codeplug that is the same in model and features as yours. Perhaps that will get you a good start. What is the model, band, flash, and firmware version of your toolproofed radio? I have some VHF model I's with firmware 6.58 model # h01kdd9pw1bn 000008-100000-0. Let me know if I can help. My radio was last programmed with RSS.

The exact model of MTS2000 I have is a H01WCH4PW1CN

SN is a 466AVU and so forth.

If anyone has a code plug that could help me recover this thing...I would sure appreciate it.
