that "toolproofing" is coming back to a theater near you.

think rebanding firmware.

Didn't they already get their ass in courts over this? From what I remember, the MCS was never "toolproofable" it was only in the MTS2000 v5.x + (then removed in 5.41 or something like that? I forget)...

If this becomes a reality...how can it be stopped when many are slaves to Circle-M.

The more you buy into the prison system, the deeper your cell is witin it.

They are akin to an economic gestapo in the land mobile world.

Buy from us, or buy nothing.

We control all that you see and hear....we control the vertical, the horizontal......sound familiar?

*cough* It's time to break the chains.

I'll buy used Circle-M, but NOT new, those days are long over!

My main service van is Kenwood, UHF and VHF.

Service van #2 will be a mix...Kenwood and B/K. (DMH mobile).

As long as the Astro line isn't toolproofed.

Toolproofing never left the MTS2000 series. I can't see Motorola bothering to toolproof NLA radios such as the MCS2000 & XTS3000/Astro Spectra...but who knows. The newer Astro25 radios aren't "hackable" in the same sense anyway, so again I can't see them needing it for them.
