ok, I'm new at this so dont laugh, I have a mts2000 flashport 900Mhz my question is simple, its range is 896-941Mhz, so if it will recieve 896, is there anyway of making it receive 851?? without losing its tx/rx on 900? I want to use this as a 900 portable but would also be nice to monitor the local 800Mhx TRS, so again dont laugh, but is it possible??

1)-no, the front end filter won't go that far.
2)-there's the toolproofing issue, assuming your MTS2000 is a real MTS and not some hackjob with an MTX controller
3)-buy a scanner. unless your authorized to be on a trunked sys, illegally programming a radio on someone else's TRS is retarded. besides no system admin in their right mind would cut on a frankenstein radio like that anyway.

ok, now can someone a little less professional and a little more open minded answer my question please?

Everything MTS2000des said was 100% accurate.
To elaborate more on his last point, you will not find anyone here to assist you with any endevour to illegally program a radio to scan a TRS for which you are unauthorized to be on. No one here wants to be an accessory to a Federal crime.

ok, i'll be nice about it.
there is no way your 900 radio can function far enough below it's rated bandsplit to function on an 800Mhz trunking system.
