Red wire has power.
Yellow wire has power & fuse is good.
Black wire is grounded.
All connections are tight.

When the radio is in the MVA the following occurs:

- It does power up the HandHeld {ASTRO saber looking mic} but does NOT backlight the handheld unit. Other then that the controller works for everything else remote radio wise.

- The mobile speaker does not pass audio, BUT if you put your ear close to it you can hear very very faintly audio. I am hearing all audio on the XTS-5000 speaker itself and when I use the handheld controller for voume control it dos riase & lower the volume on the XTS-5000 but not the mobile speaker.

Any suggestions?

Sorry my wireless keyboard was running low. On the last sentence I meant to say:

**I am hearing all audio on the XTS-5000 speaker itself and when I use the handheld controller for volume control it does raise & lower the volume on the XTS-5000 but not the mobile speaker.

I seem to remember someone coming across a similar problem before.

What DSP and Host is loaded in the radio/Host in the XTVA?

Has the backlight on the HHCH ever lit up?

Does the speaker work on anything else?

The radio will need programmed for "backlight while in MTVA", you may possibly have a speaker or speaker cable issue. Of course, if you have 1.50 firmware, you will need a bump.

It may be an issue with the case, M replaced abut 60 of our radio cases, if I remeber right, the was a TSB on the case for various issues.

"backlight while in MTVA" Is not what I am refering to. I am refering to the HHCH, it does not light anymore. Like there is no power going to it.

The speaker cable is new, it has not been exposed to anything recently. All looks new still.

I can not test the speaker on other equipment because it has a special connection just for the MVA cable.

Yea, I think it may be the case also. But I was hoping I could fix the problem myself, any troubleshooting tips for the case?

You could try taking the radio apart and re-seating all the connections. If that doesn't do it, you may want to start eliminating things, like the HHCH and see if you have volume them.
