Hi,
I have a question that is confounding me. I am trying to write a CP to my XTS3000. I spent several hours writing a CP that the radio took. It had one Astro channel in it. I went back and added 4 more Astro channels to the CP, they are duplicate freqs, but they are Astro enabled. I added them to the zone/channel assignment menu and went to write the radio and it now comes up with the following message: Cannot Write Radio without Advanced System Keys. It is a uhf XTS3000 with only conventional channels in it. I am stumped. By the way it is ver. 5.00.02 cps. Lemme know if you need more info about the radio.

Thanks,
Lowry K4RUR

What kind of Rib/cables are you using?

my sandy ganz rib occasionally throws CPS into this, but when i switch to the Motorola SmartRib, it never occurs.

i suspect its probably a timing issue on non-/\/\ ribs.

Hi,
Genuine Moto RIB and genuine Moto cable. The funny thing is, it wrote just fine when I wrote a cp earlier, it was just when I added the 4 astro channels.
Arghgghghhhhhhhhh! Thanks for the suggestion.

Lowry, try shutting everything down, radio, rib PC etc and bring it back up

seems that once it gets stuck in that loop its hard to get it out. Perhaps this is more of a bug in 5.00.02 than anything else.

on mine, i could eventually write the CP and everything was fine

Guess what? That did the trick. I guess I was burned out and didn't even think of that. My buddy said CPS was finicky, guess he was right. I am still learning my way around it, but so far I really like it over RSS. I know my way around RSS very well, but I like it that I can do all this in windows.
Well, I'm off to bed, thanks again for the help, you're a gentleman and a scholar.

Take care,
Lowry
