Impress Gang Charger Rear Connector?

I have a WPLN4121BR V3.00 imress gang charger. Did not get a manual with it and would like to know what the rear connector is for? It looks like a 15 pin monitor connector but before I just go plugging in things I thought I would find out what it is actually for. Also if anyone has a lead on a manual that would be great. Also I am thinking about adding displays. Will I need to upgrade the 3.00 firmware to 3.4 to mimic the frimware in the dispalys?
Thanks
Mark

Yes you will need to upgrade to 3.4 to use displays.
I put some in a 3.0 and only 1/2 of them worked.
Everything went fine after I upgraded to 3.4
The plug on the back is a VGA plug for a computer screen readout
Plug in a monitor and it mimics the displays.
I WISH!
but I did try a monitor just to see what would happen.
Absolutly zippo!
No it is for a future aplication.
I think in the long term it is for updating the firmware without opening the charger.

Not from what I saw. My guess is that it's a way to talk to the chargers and collect battery info... maybe for the purpose of keeping tabs of lots of batteries as well as history/performance data around multiple departments?
Anyway, the connector has a common ground reference and each pin is a TTL data line from a different charger pocket. At least, that's what I could tell easily when I had my gang charger apart the other day.

Are there any (non NDA) docs describing the data produced by the connector?

Not that I have. It may be as simple as the same data sent to the display. If you've got one, wire it up with a MAX233 and see what comes out.
