Converting "standard" RIB into "flash" s

I am looking to modify my real "standard" Motorola RIB into a "switchable" standard/flash smart RIB.
I understand that this involves just a couple of additional switches?
Does anybody have any simple instructions for the mod? A "marked-up" PCB layout of the standard Motorola RIB ( which is on the Batlabs site) would be very useful.
Thanks

If your talking about making a smartrib?
Your nuts.
If your talking about making something that can flash some Waris series radios, or maybe the 'el cheapie CT series or something, sure, you can probably get by with some "wires" added in to the rib in certain places on a switch.
Smartrib? I stand by my origional "your nuts."

I want to flash a trunking Jedi GP1200/MTS1200 into a MT2100
There is helpful info in the archives but I need a "flash" RIB.
This "flash" RIB is sometimes called a "modified" RIB - but the term "modified" is also used to describe a standard RIB with a battery/RS232 mod!!
So I am not sure what to call the "modded flash"RIB - obviously NOT a SMART RIB!!!!!!
There is a "Universal RIB" circuit diagram including "flash" mod details but this circuit is slightly different from the real Motorola RIB - so I am looking for mod info for a real Motorola RIB to enable it to flash a Jedi GP1200 into a MT2100.
Where are you Andreas!!!
Cheers

no way are you going to alter a rib of any type into a smartrib to flash that radio. i think the modified rib he's talking about is the one listed here on batlabs with a couple upgraded circuits but it's basically the same thing. if you have ever seen the inside of a smartrib you'll know why there's no way you'll be able to alter it.
now changing your radio into a mt2100 is a different story, go here and it tells you how.

Thanks
I have already checked out the Batlab info and the "flash" RIB circuit.
The "flash" RIB circuit is not identical to a real Motorola RIB circuit - ie the differences seem to be more than just the additional switches/wires.
So I am looking for some guidance on modding a real Motorola RIB into a simple "flash" RIB ie adding a couple of switches etc.

This circuit IS much the same and you could add the switch external to the RIB in the cable.

Thanks Will
I'm very pleased that you can add the switch external to the RIB in the cable - I was a bit reluctant to start messing with my real RIB!!!!
Do you have simple mod details?
There appears to be 3 switches in the German UniRIB circuit. Also, the pin outs on the DB25 socket are different compared to the Batlabs RIB ie pins 3,[16],[23],14,10,25.

Well, as I do not FLASH... I think there is a different pin the RIB writes to and that is why the switch.
Maybe someone has a better description of the needed switch configuration.

Anybody know how to wire up the flash switches in the RIB to radio cable?
Rather than messing with switches , maybe an easier way is just to build a "flash plug" ie just incorporate flash wiring in a DB25 male/female inline arrangement which you plug into the output of the RIB - you then just remove the inline plug when you want to use the RIB for normal use?
Thanks

you have to put the switch in it, you have to be able to flip the switch when the program tells you to.
