trunk lip mounts - not so good for higher powers, but your friends gotta either committ to a proper mount or cut bait and move on.

Glass mounts.. bad idea, especially for a high power radio.

I would recommend rear fender mount on l-brackets. You'll have to drill a couple tiny holes for the Antennas in non-visible places, but the performance increase is well worth it.

i use the cellular look alike glass mount antennaes for the undercover ATF guys and they are using 110w spectras. i don't get much complaining from them. and it seems that there is just enuf metal in the glass tint that makes a pretty good ground plane. magnet mounts on the roof look pretty tacky but at least you can get a high gain or standard gain antennae on it. but i guess if you don't want to drill any holes that's what you have to sacrafice. one other thing i've done on a couple s-10's is remove the regular am/fm antennae off of the fender, the hole that they are in is perfect for an 3/4" mount. then i just layed the am/fm antennae sideways in the engine compartment and it still worked.

Anyplace that sells Larsen antennas/mounts will do. HRO, AES, etc.

I'm sure Antenex and places like that sell them but I've never ordered from them.

really? what kind of performance do you get? what about the load for the radio at high power? Do you get all 110 out of them?

I recently did a stint in the local Motorola shop. We used a little holesaw from ANTENNEX when we had to drill holes. I don't know if you are familiar with them, but they are virtually pain free if you use one that is new and sharp.I found that there are a couple of things about installs in this car that are good and bad. The plastic trim cover over the rocker panel has 3 little stubs that are flimsy and easy to break(bad)...even when using a trim tool. On the police models there is a wiring harness extension built in under the floor mat(good) also above the foot area on the passenger side floor pan there is a lil rubber plug that can be pulled out for easy access through the firewall in to the engine compartment. Hope this helps(good). I like this car a lot. The police versions I have worked on appear to be great cars.
