XTS-3000 FAIL 01/84

Has anybody experienced "FAIL 01/84" on an XTS-3000? It locks up my XTS-3000. If I recycle the power, it sometimes works for a bit but locks up later.

Any advice on what I can do to repair the problem would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Alan

That would be a SLIC Initialization Failure. If all else fails, replace the vocon.

Thanks very much Tim!

I'm confused, do I need to replace the entire controller board or is the vocon a separate item on the controller board? Any on eBay? I couldn't find any.

SLIC initialization failure... ouch. The Vocon is the board contained within the metal case on top of the command board... if you have an encryption module installed, that will be a separate smaller board plugged into the vocon (does not need to be replaced).

I have to admit - I've never seen an 01/84...

But the SLIC chip, which may be the source of the error, is on the controller board, no?

Tks,
Alan
