Quantar Morse ID

A question concerning the programming of a Quantar.
Is it possible to have the morse code ID sent with PL? Right now, the ID is set to CSQ. I'm finding that I'm missing amateur personal ID cycles without the reminder...
Tnx for replies.

As I recall...
No late model /\/\ repeater (MSF, Quantar/Quantro)
will allow morse ID with PL while using the built-in controller.

The commercial and public safety users don't want to hear that
noise so I suppose they win on that option.

I wish it could be done... I have an MSF and Quantro that option
would be useful on if it were available.

MSF5000s don't activate PL/DPL when sending the CW ID. But, if it's a repeater using the built-in controller, lengthen the drop-out timer to about 10 seconds, set the hold-off timer to 0 or 1 second, so the ID fires as soon as the input carrier drops, and the transmitter will stay on the entire time the CW ID comes out, with PL/DPL that's present at that time. You won't hear it when it fires off XX minutes later (after a period of non-use) because the PL/DPL won't be activated. But at least you'll hear it if normal users are carrying on a conversation.

apparantly there is a codeplug mod on an msf5000 to enable this, my buddies hammy MSF ids with PL all the time... drives me nuts.

I think that mod might only be for the EPROM-programmable model (CLB). Nothing I know about for the PC-programmable one (CXB/RLB) will activate PL/DPL during the built-in CWID. I didn't have to worry about it because I used an external controller for the timers and IDs, so it keys the transmitter with PL all the time.
