high to Low Power??

I programed My saber 1 (h43 high power) to the low power h33 to get the full freq, range.... switched over.... put in the freq., and wrote everything fine... when trying to transmit all I get is audible beeping in all the channels... any Ideas from the pro's what I might have done wrong??
put the orig. code plug back in and it works fine in high power
And I noticed it would only let me put in 8 pl's as apposed to 24 in high power ?????

What are the frequencies you programmed into the radio?
What is the synthesizer model number?
IE: NLD8201 or NLD8210?
The first is the 'low split' and can't be pushed far out of it's range where the second can easily be programmed outside the normal range.
I suspect if you attempted to program any frequency in the mid 150's, say 154.370 or 155.640, this is why the radio will not transmit, you will have to swap the synthesizer along with the FDS and 2-pole filter to get into this range.
If the P.A is the NLD8121, then you should swap it for the NLD8122 or the later revision of that same module(NLD8773), then the radio should easily operate all across the VHF range you need it to operate in.
Swapping U5 may also be required if the radio was originally a low split VHF model, then U5 will be an NFD6091 instead of the higher split NFD6092 that you will also require.
U5 is under the receiver module(U4) and is retained by two clips and will drop out from the bottom of the module, as will the red rubber isolation pad that seats above it(maintains contact pressure for the filter) and MUST be used.

Saber Is have extremely limited memory, and therefore can not 'store' or use many different PL tones, so you get a limited amount the radio can be programmed for and use at the same time( I know, it SUX).
But that's the Model I for you.....limited, in everything.

Apparently the radio took great offense to being prog. as a "secure" radio when it was "insecure"
... I put the orig. CP back in....reprog. as "clear", LP.... things seem to be working now... however I havnt tried Tx yet... but it's Rx'ing in the 153-155 range in low power.. I will see tomorrow at work if it's 100%
And all 24 pl's seem to be available now as well.... strange?

As a non secure radio being programmed as secure, the CP for the non secure radio was getting confused as the ability to enable secure mode was never there so the RSS used the free allocation for the secure option and took away a couple of PL allocations to make up for it.
Saber I radios are not always simple to program as it appears many have a mind of their own when it comes to PL tones you can use, and how many.
I've had one that would accept and use every tone I programmed, and they were all different, from PL to DPL also.

All the above was programmed into a Saber I, but then I had one I could only use FOUR...WTF??
It may also depend on the RSS version used as well.
