i have a gtx 800mhz privacy plus handheld that needs the logic alignment done to it. how do you enter the crystal information in the software. i dont see anywhere to enter it in. the radio is out of lock due to the board being blanked. is it a vegetable for good? thanks.

I don't think you enter anything like that on GTX. Certainly the mobiles don't ask for it. That's something that the MaxTracs and GM300s used to do. The GTX is a lot simpler; you provide an existing codeplug when you blank it, make sure the serial number is correct, and you're basically done.

Well, you still have to align the unit's TX power, deviation, deviation balance, reference oscillator & RSSI.

yes, i tried all of that. i used the correct codeplug and dumped it in and done the logic alignment. still i have a constant tone and no transmit and recieve. any ideas?

The E6 (well, that's what shows up on a mobile) and the constant tone means the codeplug is empty, and will always happen after you blank and initialize the radio. You need to add some frequency data into it. Easy to do for conventional channels, but I don't know what to do for trunking. I just load another codeplug in that has one channel of each, then align the radio. Now, I've only done GTX 900 MHz mobiles; my 900 MHz portable has been working fine and I never had to blank it.

i cloned a codeplug to the gtx portable after i dumped the codeplug into it. that should have put the trunking and conv. setup in it.

Is there an error message on the screen? kcbooboo mentioned "E6", but I don't see where you mentioned that.

I see. Are you using a "no display" model codeplug to do the initialization? If you are using a "regular" GTX codeplug, that would be why the radio gives a constant tone...and would show an "E06" if it had a display. The firmware in the controller doesn't support the regular GTX codeplug, it can't work with it. You get the same error if you try to load a SmartZone capable LTS2000 codeplug into the regular GTX.
If you are using a "no display" codeplug, then I cannot explain why you are having the problem, as there are no other required steps to take.
Unless your radio is an LTR model and you are trying to use a privacy plus codeplug to initialize...or vice versa...
