Opinion question on trade of ht1000 for JT1000's

Folks I have a chance to trade 2 16chan ht1000's and one 2 chan (converted to 16ch) ht1000 for two fairly good condition JT1000's. The jt owner does not need use or care about the features of the JT whereas I would use the extra features the JT offers. Do you folks think an even trade is fair? all the HT1000s are in very good shape.

thanks for your imput

You won't regret the trade. I've never had the opportunity to own a JT1000, but I'd trade any of my UHF gear in a second for one, even the 255 channel Waris.

It's certainly fair for you, and by the sounds of it, he's gaining an extra radio with all the features he'll ever want to use, so it's fair for him too.

Well you asked about it being a fair trade. I follow the pricing (EBay) pretty closely and you'd be coming out $200-$300 on the plus side on
the deal generally.

Front Panel Programming (FPP) beats not having FPP on any
radio any day any time anywhere.

I've owned a JT1000 and let me say they are great radios. You will definately not regret it. Basically it is an HT1000 in which you can edit the codeplug on the front. Very convenient.

Sounds fishy to me. Take away the field program features of the JT1000 and you have a HT1000.
