I have my hands on a intermittent duty vhf msr2000 at 155.025mhz. Now according to the manual if im right the intermittent duty base station work 146-174mhz range but the cont. duty msr2000s are broken into band splits. Am I Correct in this assumption?

The MSR2000 Intermittent VHF RF Power Amplifier covers 146~174 MHz and the Continous Duty VHF RF Power Amplifier looks almost identical to the MICOR RF Power Amplifiers except these units are painted Black. These have the same frequency ranges and the Heavy Duty Heatsinks as the older VHF Micor Base Station / Repeaters.

Basically you are correct.

Right, the intermitant duty VHF PA is the Mitrek PA, and very simmular to the VHF Syntor PA. This PA will throttle back to about half power without any problems. They like to run at about 75 to 80 watts, and that should be enough for most applications. A thermostat and a couple of reliable fans helps them run at 110 watts.


The Micor design have much less range, and use obsolete transistors. But are the same as a mobile 110 watt Micor PA, in the same frequency range.
