Ribless programming cable ???

Post by Max »

Has anyone tryed a Programming Cable for Motorola Spectra VHF/UHF Mobile Radios
Connects directly to PC serial port, no special programmer/adapter required.Replacement for Motorola RIB box and programming cable.Unlike most other cables, no RIB (Radio Interface Box), batteries or 25-pin adapter is required, this connects directly to PC or laptop.
Just looking to see if anyone has used one ,before i buy one.
Thanks
Max

Can you provide an internet link to the product you have in mind? Right now, I am not aware of any Motorola-produced ribless Spectra cable. I'm sure that someone, somewhere, has made an aftermarket ribless cable, though....

There is a ribless for the Astro that we use on the P25/800 radios. The plug is the same as the Spectra's mic. Did anyone try it on one yet?
