I picked up something at a State auction the other day! It appears to be a standard 99 Ch Maratrac control head, houever, it has a squelch knob on it, the knob looks like a MX300 series knob, but it has the correct label and everything on it. Is this normal? I don't recall seeing one before.
any healp?
Thanks.

Maratrac Control head?

Take a look at the MaraTrac Batlabs page (at the bottom of the General Information section):

If the radio has an internal HLN5342ESP01 option board, then it can use the external squelch control knob on the control head. I think these option boards are usually only found in the low band radios (below 50 MHz).

Maratrac with SQ knob.
I don't have the radio itself. Just the conotrol head and cabling. The state seems to have no idea what it's doing when it sets up it's auctions. The pallet I got has some stuff on it and the pallet next to it has the other half of some of the radios. and No..the guy would not trade any of it. They seem to just stack things that look alike n each pallet...so one full of control heads, and the like, the other full of radios and similar stuff..... Oh well...just bring more money next auction...
Thanks for the help...
Thanks for the help...
Correct, 50MHz and below. Thing is, the internal squelch adjustment on the radio still affects the squelch as well as the knob on the control head.Mike B wrote:Take a look at the MaraTrac Batlabs page (at the bottom of the General Information section):
