Looking to verify the bandwidth on FCC ID# ABZ89FT4736...

According to the FCC website, this ID # indicates that it can transmit between 403 and 512 Mhz... Does anyone know if this is true? Also, if it appears on a Motorola Spectra Mobile, and the seller doesn't know the bandwidth, is there someplace I can go to verify it's band capabilities? The model number that correlates to it is: D44ZXA5JC7AK...
Thanks,
Tom

They use that FCC ID to indicate a UHF radio. There are several distinct splits within the UHF band. Given the C7 model number, I would bet that it's a 403-430 split. Those were very popular with the US Government. There are very few UHF trunking systems in existence outside of the 403-430 range.

Good point. I'll rephrase. There are very few UHF Smartnet systems (which is what the C7 Spectra being discussed plays on) outside of the 403-430 range. Most are (or were) US Government.

And that makes that radio sort of not too useful here in the US. A public safety agency above Line A could use it if it was conventional, but . . . for ham use it's pretty well useless as FM activity is mainly above 440.[/b]
