Has anyone ever heard of a problem with pin 10 in a CDM 1250? I had one that was a dead short. I am told that the pin has a fuse in the radio, but when I put power the the pin it melted the connector and the pin came right out of the radio.

Are you SURE that you have pin 10?
The fuse should have blown before this current flowed.

Don't count the pins on the radio- count the pins on the acc. plug. The 16 pin acc plug centers on the 20pin radio plug, leaving the outer 4 pins not connected.

Good luck!

good lord. You weren't trying to hook up the Batt+ to that were you? That's just an ignition sense lead!

There is no ignition sense fuse inside a CDM. You should however, use an external one, low amperage, I don't recall what moto calls for here, but 1/2A should be more than enough as this pin shouldn't draw more than a few milliamps.

I'm not sure which pin you actually connect to, but an external fuse probably would have saved you.
