I have a HT 1550, I aso have a Minitor III. I went into cps and set up a quick call system for the ht1550 and assigned it to a channel. The setting are the same for the minitor and the ht1550. The minitor will recieve and alert just fine but the 1550 will not alert on our tones? Is there anything that I should look for? Does anyone know if this is a problem for this radio, does it want to be a radio and not a pager also?

On the signaling tab of the channel that you are trying to set up for paging are you using a RX PL/DPL and, if so, is the "TPL/DPL Required for Data" box checked?

If it is, try de-selecting it. Many systems strip the PL/DPL when transmitting the tones.

The TPL/DPL box is not checked.

If you have the codeplug available, I can take a look at it and try to find the problem.

What it sounds like to me is maybe a timing thing. The HT radios I find need a 2 sec tone and the Minitor will work on a shorter tone. I have a ht 1250 and a M5 and my dept tones are old plectron tones where the second tone is shorter then 2 sec and the HT 1250 will not open like a pager but works fine in my M5. The set of tones I have in the radio for the county team I am on works fine in the radio and it opens like a pager.(the county team tones are 2 sec long.)

Do you have the recieve system for that personality set to decode Quick Call II?
