Motorola software xts 5k mdl question

Post by shadownite1 »

Any one know which version software can program this radio. THe Host is 2.20.02, DSP 2.20.00. I used a 8.0 version and i'm getting an error.

Are you using USB or Serial.
make sure you select the right option.

I have also radios that wont read on USB so I have had to revert to the serial. Thank god it wasn't for a flash upgrade.

8.0 CPS should read/write that just fine as long as the radio can communicate with your PC.

Alpha CPS.

Like Doug said, you're screwed.

My only suggestion is to send it into the depot for flatrate repair and ask to uplift the firmware... however, they may reject it.

I'll second that! Your hands are about tied with that radio.

Thats what I suspected you were getting. Perhaps you could try to get a firmware update from moto instead. You might have more luck with that than getting the alpha CPS as per batdude's post.

I wonder if the radio was programmed with 8.00.01. If he's only using 8, then wouldn't he get that dreaded message?

That is a different error message from the one you get with the wrong release version of CPS. And come to think of it, was 8.00.01 even released yet at the time of his orig post?

Choose which version you have from the first four
Then choose one from the next three. (must be what you have)
Supply the model number and the flash code to Motorola
They will send you a disk and a hard key all for $75.00
You dont need a smart rib or anything else, just the programming cable
Now if you want more fetures that will cost more.
