===============================================================
ASTRO SABER & XTS 3000 CUSTOMER PROGRAMMING SOFTWARE R05.01.00
================
This new version (R05.01.00) contains the following enhancement:

- 'NAC Monitor'. This new feature implement the APCO standard for digital
carrier squelch based on a NAC value 0f $F7E. Whenever a subscriber has
been programmed with $F7E as a receive NAC value, the subscriber will
unmute to ALL Astro calls regardless of NAC setting or Astro squelch rules.

- 'Legacy Transit System'. This feature restricts the use of the current
Trunking System to the legacy frequency format for compatibility with legacy transit systems. DO NOT MODIFY this feature unless a Motorola Field Technical Representative explicitly instructs you to do so.

Thanks for posting that PJ, so regarding NAC Monitor does that mean that an NAC of F7E will now unmute any transmissions NAC for RX? I thought that this feature was already available in the previous version of CPS but I have never been able to get it to work with host 7 and DSP 8, I wonder if voting scan and Digital ID is supported with this "Wildcard RX NAC"?

Thanks again mate.

Cheers,
AJ :wink:

Digital CSQ allowed the unmuting of any NAC, but this NAC allows transmitting "CSQ" in digital.

Are they going to put it on MOL for download? I have a subscription for that software.

No. The last rev that I downloaded was 04.02.xx, but that was fairly recently. It doesn't even show that, now. They may have wised up, though.... I bought my Astro P&M software over five years ago, so technically; I'm not eligable for "free" updates after three years. Any thoughts?

Call MOL and see if you can get them to add it, at my work we have so many subscriptions that they screw up on a lot. Maybe you can convince them you are supposed to have it still.

Renew your subscription.

Is the subsrciption as expensive as buying a new copy? Years ago; it was only ~$150.00 to update your subscription to a particular version.

Another question: I was looking over some to the local SO's invoices for some Astro equipment, since they're having digital ID issues, and saw that the shop charged them for the CPS for the Quantar, Astro Mobiles, and XTS5000's. WTF? Isn't that contrary to the license areement for the software regarding ownership of the software license?
