I assume it's not easy on these older pagers but I'm wondering if there are instructions anywhere on moving a Minitor I pager to another Loband VHF freq.

If you are moving it to a closely adjacent frequency, you only need to instal the new xtal and adjust L3 to zero the frequency.
For a wider move within the bandsplit, you may need to peak the front end T2, T1, C4.
Anything beyond that, the full alignment is messy and requires an adapter cable to separate the rf and decoder boards for access to the tuning points.

Thanks k2hz. Do you know a source of lowband crystals in small quantities? Everyone always wants to sell me 100 when I only need 1 to 3...

International Crystal Mfg. will be happy to sell you 1 or whatever you need.
They are a little more expensive but they always get it right the first time and I have never had the drift problems experienced with others.

I have used standard scanner crystals in low band (46 MHz) Minitor 1s before with success. By standard, I mean those cut for radios such as Regency with 10.7 MHz IF. The Bearcat types used a 10.8 MHz IF for whatever reason.
Crystal frequency is desired receive frequency + 10.7 MHz for the 46 MHz range, but may be different for other splits.
The scanner crystal pins are larger in diameter than the standard pager crystal, but IIRC it just fit into the holes. You also have to be a little careful trimming the crystal leads: do it after you solder the crystal into the board, otherwise you may break the crystal blank itself.
