Visar model number: H01WCC4AA3AN This is supposed to be a 900Mhz conventional, according to the codeplug I happened to find. I didn't know such a thing existed.

I've never seen one. But if this is accurate info, I'd sure like to see the codeplug. A Visar would be a great radio for 900Mhz Ham use.......if the radio will handle the bandsplits, easy to modify the codeplug, etc.

It has been a while since I had anything to do with Visars so I might be really off base here. Could you take a conventional ,VHF, UHF, 800, Visar, put a 900 Privacy Plus RF board in it and force this codeplug in?

I was wondering the same thing. If you mated a conventional controller with a 900MHz RF board and you could use the "special" software to force the codeplug, it just might work.

nope, the firmware on the controller will not support it. You would need a trunking controller.

see the main page for more details

He has some "900 MHz" MTX8000s listed also. My best guess is that the Visars are also on 800 MHz.
