Asrto Spectra Problem

Post by Max »

I bought a Astro Spectra 800 MHz from ebay,it's suppose to be a 800 Smartzone,Model # D04UJF9PW5AN 1 MEG Flashcode 500008-000000-1 and powers up with no fail codes.
When I run a check by powering it up and pressing the home button 5 times, this is what I get:
First ER9\10
1-AMR0701
2-M0500128
3-EMCR0000
4- 1 None
5- 2 None
6-the model and serial numbers and then it stops in the RF TEST MODe

Would I be right in saying I got screwed.

Error 9/10 just means it's been told that it has a crypto module, but there is in fact no module present or the module has failed. That would be in line with lines 3-5 (no firmware revision, no keygroups).

Best way to verify this would be to pull the radio and see if the crypto module is present.

Does the radio power up normally?

The HOST/DSP numbers look a little skewed, might verify them. What does the RSS/CPS say when you read the radio, if you can?

Sounds like you got a hack job. The flashcode doesn't match the host/dsp. Host/dsp would indicate its an early model analog only radio, the host is vselp era but the M in the dsp indicates its analog only dsp. Someone rammed an imbe flashcode into it.

Ebay golden rule #1 was broken.

Not only do you have to know what questions to ask....

YOU HAVE TO ASK THEM BEFORE BIDDING

you were e-screwed on that AS bud.

I think you meant ER09/10.

From the main menu press F4-->F3-->F2. On the bottom right hand of the screen, you should see "Secure Hardware Equipped.....Yes". Change it to "No" and the error code will go away.
