I feel sorry for all the radios getting thrown out as "trunked" systems take hold. There's a lot of good technology on these pallets, but gone are the days when you could expect 20-25 years out of a radio I suppose.

Yup, things go for stupid prices these days. The Toronto Police recently had their auction. They auctioned off a skid full of VHF MCX1000 mobiles, with about 50 mics still brand new in the box. The whole thing went for $125 or so.
