Charger question for Motorola Spirit Radio

Hi all,
Thanks to all that posted about being able to use Nimh batterys in the Spirit radio a while back. I however do have another question. I have a Motorla radio (MV21CV) that I got from radio shack the BTX128. I am need of a charger for it. I noticed on my Spirit radio that I have the wall charger has 11vdc 55ma on it. I have 2 questions on this, (1) Is there a current limiter inside of the radio that limits the amount of current going to the battery, if so what would it be? (2) I have a apater for another radio but plug is the same and wire the same but it 14.5vdc 60mah. Could I use this plug with the BTX128 without harming the radio or battery. Im not sure how much current the charging jack can accept that is the reason I am asking.
Thanks,
Joey
