I know its a feature after a certain revision of firmware but I can't for the life of me find the threads... Can anyone shed some light on the options/firmware required for upgrading a 5000 from 512 channels to 8** channels?

The radio must have at least R07.xx.xx HOST to support 850 Modes {Conventional Personalities/Talkgroups}

With version R07.xx.xx and higher with the XTS 2500, you get 512 modes.
