Hi everybody,

Just got a couple of MTX960's and they need programming, wanting to add some of the great extra features, but I am only used to working with non-keypad GP328's. Need to know if the following things can be done:

NOTE: I am using a Conventional UHF system, on some (if not all) of the 40 Australian CB Channels. The MTX960's will be working with the GP328's.

What I Want:
* Caller ID's from both GP and MTX models to show up on the 960's screen with an audible ID tone, also possibly the 328's getting the audible caller ID tone
* Ability to do electronic radio checks through the menu screens to see if the other MTX/GP's are switched on and within range, without making a voice call and disturbing the other person
* Ability to Private Call between MTX960's (possibly GP328's) over the public channels by entering the User ID/Phonebook Menu (so it blocks out other CB users on the conventional system,and acts as CTCSS or PL)
* Mandown to sound the loud siren from the radio speaker, or transmit the siren noise on the channel, or both at the same time
*Need to know this: I want to use X-PAND, but being on public channels, most people have crappy radios which do not have X-PAND, and If I talk to these randoms I will get poor audio quality. However I will spend 99% of the time talking to the other Motos in my "personal conventional system" only. Is it worth X-PAND or not???

Finally, I want a programming specifications/request sheet that I can fill out and hand to my local dealer to make it easy on him, and It needs to accommodate every single possible feature on the MTX960, including a section about connecting with the other radios on "my" system (such as ID Numbers, etc). One for a GP328 4ch and GP328 16ch would be awesome too. X-Pand would only be used on narrowband channels...I'm assuming your public channels are standard 25KHz channel spacing?

I can't answer your other questions due to unfamiliarity, as they aren't North American models.

Todd, the channels are 25KHz spacing, so I guess that means X-PAND is out of the picture

other than that, these radios are mostly identical to:
GP328 = HT750
MTX960 = MTX8250/9250 (Using Conventional Mode)

Sorry for any confusion. If anyone could still help me out with those other questions, or atleast tell me if the North American versions will do what I need them to, please post.
