Error message in CPS

When I try to read my vhf XTS5K I get an error message telling me that is unable to open the radio any thoughts on what the problem could be? its version 8.0
i assume you are using the USB cable.
there is a readme.txt file with your CPS. Read it - and do what it says, then report back the results....
you may have to install a different driver.
you also have to be using windows XP...
